Longboard Collector Club

The club originated in Southern California, but now has members throughout California and the United States.  We don’t have any overseas members yet, but we hope to one day.

The most active members are located in San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara Counties.  However, we have members who travel hundreds of miles to attend regularly scheduled meetings from San Diego to as far north as Santa Cruz.  The majority of the meetings are scheduled on Saturday mornings and are rain-or-shine events.  Dozens of surfboards are on display and for sale, and there are many other items too.  The collectors desire surf posters, records, clothing, movies, skate boards, surf racks, and so much more.
There are around 150 active members and the group is accepting new members anytime.  There are no restrictions to membership and it allows us to sell at the meetings, through the newsletter, or on the website.  Free food is available at most meetings and the “Aloha Spirit” is alive-and-well.  It is a friendly group who share a common interest in classic surf memorabilia.

For the younger members, the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s stuff is available too.  The Bolts, MR’s, and Plastic Fantastics are hot, as are the transition boards that began to emerge in the late 60’s. Some of the members collect nothing but these boards.  Don’t feel because you are not middle age, there is no place for you.  The torch must be passed and surf stuff, is surf stuff.  You will find “beaters” to “mint” stuff at the meetings, plus lots of members to fill in the history. I should mention that there are many used and new boards available at the meetings too.  Many people trade modern “riders” and it is a great place to pick up a great board. If you are interested, don’t hesitate to call and find out where and when the next meetings occur.
